Link Exchange Opportunities for Law Practice Websites

It should be noted at this point that rarely, if ever, will you be allowed to publicize your law practice on another website if you do not have a website of your own.  If you find yourself in need of a website we highly recommend Legal-Sites.net

Placing a link to your website on another website should be done whenever possible.  Each link from a website back to your law practice website is a little piece of gold that will increase the link popularity of your website.

Before placing a link on any website you should have a proper search engine optimized blurb prepared in advance.   Once you have created your blurb you should save it to a file on your hard drive so that the same blurb can be used whenever you find a new link exchange opportunity.

As an example of how to create a proper search engine optimized link blurb for your law practice consider the following scenario:

Let's say that you are an attorney, with a practice in the Seattle area, and that your specialty is defending people with alcohol related driving offenses.

Your blurb would then look something like this:

Seattle DUI / DWI Lawyer - Have you recently been sited for an alcohol related driving offense?  For the past 15 years Attorney John Brown has provided an aggressive legal defense  to the citizens of Seattle accused of DUI, DWI, and other alcohol related driving offenses.  Free initial consultation.  Centrally located in downtown Seattle.

Guidelines for Constructing Your Search Engine Optimized Blurb

There are four parts to a properly formatted, Search Engine Optimized link blurb.  Lets consider them individually.

The Blurb Title - As in the example above, your blurb title should always contain three things.  IE - Your location, your area of practice, and that you are an lawyer.   Note:  Never use the word attorney in your title.  Why?  Because a full 65% of all searches made for an attorney by prospective clients the word "lawyer" is used as a search term.  The other 45%, the word attorney is used.  Remember, you are creating a search engine optimized blurb so always use "lawyer" in your title and never "attorney."

The Embedded Link - Every time you place your link on another website you will be asked for your domain name or URL.  Far too often the person submitting the link request will enter some variation of the following:  www.yourdomain.com/index.htm   This is absolutely the wrong thing to do.  Remember, the idea is to create inbound links to your domain, NOT to a specific page on your website. (e.g. - index.htm)  The proper entry in this case should be www.yourdomain.com.

The Main Text of the Blurb - The accepted length of the text you are allowed to submit varies widely from one website to another.  So be prepared to edit your text as needed.  Just tell a VERY short story here.  Your name, where you are located, how long you have practiced.  The text in the above example should give you an idea of what should be mentioned in the text of your blurb.   Remember - Keep it short and to the point.  Note:  Using the word attorney in the body of your text is not an issue.  Just don't use it in the title.
